Welcome ot my page on Equine Sports Massage. I hope you find these pages useful, I have given basic details about Equine massage and what to expect as well as a page on useful links for further details.
Horses have always been my passion since I was a child and I was inspired to go into therapy after working on a rehabilitaion yard. I qualified in human massage 2 years before I qualified as an Equine sports masseur with world renowned Mary Bromiley FRSP SRP RPT (USA) of Downs House Equine Therapy. The Equine Sports Massage Diploma is regulated by ITEC (International Examination Board) and to qualify, students must pass a written theory and practical exam as well as a veterinary viva and 2500 word dissertation.
Once I qualified, I joined the Equine Sports Massage association (ESMA) which was set up by Mary Bromileys first ever Equine Sports massage group. ESMA believes in the continuing professional development of all its members and encourages further training. I myself am hoping to start my training as an Equine Physiotherapist within the next few years.
